The former commander of the US Army in Europe emphasizes that it is therefore important to actively develop the skills of junior officers , starting from the cadet level. “I was in Iraq for two years and Afghanistan for a year, and even while we were in combat, we were constantly working on developing leaders, training officers so we could learn from mistakes,” Hodges shared.

The American general also notes that in general our country needs to attract more people to the Armed Forces to form new brigades. After all, this will enable the command to withdraw units from the combat zone for 3-4 months, during which they will undergo recovery, rest, receive new equipment, replenish supplies, and train. “And then they will go into battle again,” adds Hodges.

If we talk about carrying out offensive operations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will need, according to General Hodges, even more recruits .
