Ukrainian the ambassador announced when Germany would finally send the promised howitzers to Ukraine. Until that time, not a single weapon from Germany had reached Ukraine.
Authorized Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk said that Germany plans to deliver Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers to Ukraine. The ambassador noted that the weapons should arrive around June 22.
of a full-scale war, Germany has not yet provided Ukraine with a single piece of heavy weapons, despite promises and assurances of support.
As of today, on the 105th day of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, not a single, I repeat, not a single piece of heavy equipment – at least, these are artillery, howitzers, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks – not a single one has been delivered to Ukraine, – stressed Ambassador.
At the same time, Melnik noted that in the near future Germany still plans to fulfill at least 2 promises to supply heavy weapons. The first should be the delivery of Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers.
7 self-propelled howitzers that will be handed over to us – we will receive these systems somewhere on June 22, – Andrey Melnik said.
The Panzerhaubitze 2000 is a German self-propelled howitzer that can hit targets over 30 kilometers away. Thanks to a fully automated reloading system, this German self-propelled gun can maintain a rate of fire of 10 rounds per minute. Despite the fact that its own arsenal is 60 shells, which makes the howitzer a fairly autonomous artillery system.
In addition, later Germany promised to supply Gepard APU.
This is also an old weapon – 30 units: 15 Gepard – until the end of July, another 15 – until the end of August. That is, only 2 decisions out of all announced by the German government until today, which are under implementation, – the Ambassador noted.
Germany and Russia continue to trade
Previously, Melnik repeatedly stated about the ambiguity of actions German authorities. He said that Germany in recent months, despite the Russian aggression in Ukraine, has increased imports from Russia. Against the backdrop of the war, trade between Germany and Ukraine fell.
- According to data published by the Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin, Russia received almost 6 billion euros from Germany.
- Despite the fact that Germany supported the embargo on Russian oil and coal, Germany was repeatedly criticized by Ukrainian and European politicians.
- In particular, Polish President Andrzej Duda noted that some German business, despite Russian aggression, wants to trade with Russia and buy cheap gas and oil. According to him, part of German business is indifferent to what is happening with Ukraine.
