In particular, the corresponding provision was approved at the legislative level in Wyoming. On Sunday, November 12, Mrs. Ukraine in the USA Oksana Markarova noted that Wyoming became the 32nd US state to recognize that the Holodomor in 1932-33 was genocide. The state also declared November as the month of remembrance for this tragedy. Markarova thanked Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon for his solidarity with Ukraine, as well as the Ukrainian community throughout the United States for drawing attention to the tragedy. “I thank the Ukrainian community in all states for their active campaign to honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomor by organizing educational events about this terrible crime of the Soviet regime against Ukrainians committed 90 years ago,” wrote Madam Ambassador. Markarova recalled that traditionally on the last Saturday of November, Ukrainians around the world light candles in memory of those killed in the Holodomor. This year it must be done on November 25th. Already 32 states have recognized the Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainians / Image from Markarova’s Facebook Wyoming recognizes the Holodomor as genocide
