Already “climbing” to Trump: why Putin is afraid of direct negotiations with Ukraine Petro Sineoky

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is truly afraid of direct negotiations with Ukraine. He needs a different scenario.

Strategic communications specialist and publicist Yuri Bogdanov told Channel 24 about this, noting that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are not part of Putin's plans. The dictator is deliberately “clinging” to Donald Trump.

Which option is the most beneficial for Ukraine

As Bogdanov noted, Putin believes that he is currently waging a war against the West. He is trying in every possible way to organize negotiations with Donald Trump bypassing Ukraine.

If he starts direct negotiations with Zelensky, it will mean that Putin will not sit at the table with Trump, the leader of the largest country in the world. And Trump will simply reconcile the two neighbors. This lowers Putin from the level of “celestials”, where he considers himself, to the level of “I am no longer a president who divides the world with Xi and Trump, but a person whom Trump forces to sign something. And I do not want this,” Bogdanov said.

It is unlikely that Putin needs a truce at all. His main task is to be on an equal footing with Trump. Even during the Minsk agreements, Putin positioned himself not as a participant in the negotiations, but as an “arbitrator” between Ukraine and the separatists.

Somewhat paradoxically, it is important for Ukraine to have Trump and Putin at the negotiations. The Russian dictator only needs the US president. And Trump doesn't care at all. It is important for him to achieve two goals: to sign a ceasefire and to ensure that it is not violated during Trump's term.

It would be ideal for us to be able to jump out of the war, “freeze” and receive security guarantees. It is also important to continue both military and political integration with Europe. Then we need to watch how Trump, Xi and Putin will try to “burn” the planet. They have something to divide in Asia, in the Middle East. And we and Europe need to stay away from these processes, Bogdanov noted.

Let's add that President Volodymyr Zelensky recently noted that Putin is afraid of direct negotiations with Ukraine. He will consider this weakness and a loss. The Russian dictator does not want real negotiations. He will do everything he can to delay time and try to avoid the end of the war.
