Almost half of the Ukrainians who left the country have already returned home >With the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 5.7 million Ukrainians left their country. They went to seek asylum in the EU.

At the same time, for more than 3 months, many Ukrainians returned home. This is evidenced by the data of a survey conducted by Frontex.

Ukrainians go abroad, but also return

According to polls, after February, there were about 6.6 million entries into the EU at checkpoints from Ukraine and Moldova to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. This number does not include entries from Moldovan and Romanian citizens.

Please note: The Romanian and Polish borders continue to be under the most pressure. Since land routes for the export of grain from Ukraine operate through checkpoints on the border of the two countries, the queues of trucks are up to 20 kilometers.

At the same time, over the same period about 2.8 million Ukrainians left the EU in the direction of their home country. Although in recent weeks the number of returning Ukrainians has remained stable. For example, from 8 to 14 June, more Ukrainians were recorded entering the EU than returning to Ukraine.
