The Ukrainian authorities continue to evacuate people from Mariupol and other cities that were under fire from Russian invaders. During April 6, almost 5 thousand people were evacuated.
1,171 people left Mariupol
This was announced by the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk . She stated that 4,892 people had been evacuated on April 6.
According to Vereshchuk, 3,686 people traveled to Zaporozhye from the besieged Mariupol and Berdyansk on their own vehicles and buses. Of these:
- 1,171 people from Mariupol;
- 2,515 people from the cities of Pologi, Vasilyevka, Berdyansk, Melitopol and Gulyaipole.
1,206 people were evacuated from the cities of Lisichansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kremennaya and the village of Gornoye in the Luhansk region.
A convoy of 11 evacuation buses left Zaporozhye today
The Minister said that a convoy of 11 buses left Zaporozhye on April 6 to evacuate residents of Melitopol and Tokmak.
Now these buses are in the city of Vasilyevka and will continue to move in the morning. Also on Thursday, buses will depart from Zaporozhye to evacuate people from the city of Berdyansk.
