The active phase of the war continues in Ukraine, and our defenders repulse the enemy and successfully destroy the invaders. However, some changes in the nature of hostilities await us in autumn and winter.
Probably, by autumn this phase of the war will subside. This Channel 24 opinion was expressed by military expert Petr Chernik.
Artillery warfare intensified
Throughout the winter, we will be in a state of artillery duels, that is, there will be big fire artillery battles,” Chernik explained.
He noted that Ukraine would need new weapons to successfully counter artillery to the enemy. In particular, the AN/TPQ line of counter-battery radars, as well as short-range target detection drones.
According to the military expert, Ukraine will not be able to completely oust the infidels from its territory by the end of the year. In addition, artillery warfare will have a “new breath”.
How the next six months of the war will pass
Chernik noted that in the spring, we can probably expect an intensification of hostilities and a counteroffensive. However, things can happen that we cannot foresee.
In his opinion, in the autumn this phase of the war will subside and there will be an operational pause with artillery duels, and after that a new phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war will begin.

“The enemy has not yet reached the strategic goal, but has not abandoned it either. And there is only one strategic goal – to completely eliminate Ukrainian statehood,” the military expert emphasized.
According to him, this conflict can take a very long time. Therefore, we must prepare for a really exhausting struggle.
Only those states that are militarily strong will survive. We need to stop thinking in terms of 2012, when everything was fine. It won’t be good anymore, if we want to survive, we must prepare for war,” Chernik noted.
