Emchenko reported some details of Akhmetov's exit from the media business /EPA
Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov announced on July 11 that he was leaving the media business. However, he does not transfer his media to the state, but only broadcast licenses.
Natalya Yemchenko, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, told about this. She noted that this was mentioned in the oligarch's statement.
Akhmetov's media will not be transferred to the state
Yemchenko said that a release from SCM will be released on July 12 with certain details on the company's exit from the media business.
But now I want to fix it. We are returning to the state only state-owned licenses (which it issued to us) for broadcasting. All. This is exactly what Rinat Akhmetov said in his statement. And this is exactly what will be done, – stressed a member of the Supervisory Board of the Rinata Akhmetova Foundation.
According to her, neither brands nor libraries will transfer any other assets of the media group to the state.
“There is not a word about the transfer of assets in Akhmetov's statement, not a single one,” Yemchenko added.
She summed up that the company has no idea how the state will dispose of these licenses. Perhaps they will decide to hand them over to someone, or perhaps not.
Akhmetov is leaving the media business
Oligarch Rinat Akhmetov announced that he was leaving the media business, and his Media Group Ukraine relinquish all licenses to the state. We are talking about print media, online publications and TV channels of the media holding, in particular Ukraina, Ukraina24 and Futbol.
Akhmetov called the law on oligarchs and the creation of an appropriate register the reason for this decision. However, he refuses to call himself that. Please note that according to the law, an oligarch is considered a person who, among other things, has a significant weight in the political and economic life of the country, as well as influence on the media.
Curious! “Media Group Ukraine” is included in the list largest media holdings in Ukraine.
