Why the Patriot won't “close the sky completely”/United States Army from the United States of modern Patriot air defense systems, there is no official confirmation yet. However, these air defense systems will not help to completely “close the sky”.

This was told by a former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Stupak. He explained why one should not rely on a powerful result from the action of American air defense systems.

The range of the Patriot is limited

“If they still give us (Patriot – 24 channels), then we don't know how much, because the “toy” is very expensive,” Ivan Stupak noted.

According to him, a few years ago, the Americans sold 13 Patriot batteries to Turkey for a total value of 7-8 billion, that is, approximately $600 million per battery. That is why Ukraine is likely to receive several units of such equipment.

In addition, the SBU extruder explained that the corresponding air defense systems have a limited range. They cover approximately 80 kilometers, for example, the regional center, suburbs, and some other small settlements.

Even if we have 5 or 6 of them, we can only cover a few settlements. However, the main goal is to protect our military from Russian drones, fighters and bombers. – said Ivan Stupak.

“This means that we will not be able to cover our sky by 99%, there is simply no such possibility, so many of these Patriots. Therefore, air raid alert is still relevant, moving to bomb shelters is a must,” the expert emphasized.
