And at 10:00 a new fire was localized on an area of 1.1 hectares. The situation is currently under the control of foresters, the Ministry of Natural Resources says.
They also note that the air quality in Kyiv may be affected by a dust storm from the Caspian Lowland (Russia), which the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned about earlier.
Fine dust from the Caspian Sea has reached Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions today, and a small amount of it has reached Cherkasy and Kirovograd regions.
This dust will reach the territory of the Kyiv region on October 1 and 2, although its concentration will be significantly lower.
In addition, for the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions, air quality may worsen further “due to the movement of carbon monoxide with smoke, which will spread from outside Ukraine from the northeast on October 1”.
