Air defense, shells and armored vehicles: US announced a new $1 billion aid package for Ukraine

The United States announced a new security assistance package for Ukraine worth about $1 billion.

This is stated on the White House website.

It includes anti-aircraft, artillery shells, armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons.

New aid package from the USA: what is included in it

According to the Pentagon, Ukraine will receive:

• air defense missiles RIM-7 and AIM-9M;
• Stinger MANPADS;
• small arms and additional small arms ammunition, including 50 caliber anti-drone ammo;
• additional ammunition for HIMARS;
• 155mm artillery shells, including high explosive shells and improved dual-use conventional ammunition;
• artillery shells of 105 mm caliber;
• 60 mm mortar shells;
• Bradley infantry fighting vehicles;
• MRAP;
• HMMWV;
• material and technical support vehicles;
• tactical vehicles for towing and transporting equipment;
• tube launched missiles with optical tracking and wire guidance (TOW);
• anti-tank systems Javelin and AT-4;
• high-precision aircraft ammunition;
• airfield auxiliary equipment;
• anti-armor mines;
• Claymore anti-personnel ammunition;
• explosive ammunition for destroying obstacles;
• night vision devices;
• spare parts, field equipment, training ammunition, maintenance and other support equipment.

Recall that on April 24, US President Joe Biden signed the $61 billion aid package for Ukraine adopted by Congress. He noted that the transfer of missile systems and everything the necessary weapons for Ukraine will begin within the next few hours. Thus, the $1 billion aid package became the first in the $61 billion aid package for Ukraine.
