In Ukraine, criminal proceedings have been opened against Metropolitan Pavel, who is better known as Pasha “Mercedes”. The reason for the criminal proceedings was the statement of Pavel Lebed.
People's deputy from the Holos faction Yaroslav Yurchyshyn turned to the Office of the Prosecutor General to check the statements of Metropolitan Pavel. We are talking about the Christmas speech of Pasha “Mercedes”.
Metropolitan Pavel called Philaret and Epiphany
Yaroslav Yurchyshyn quoted Pavel Lebed, aimed at inciting religious strife.
“The Assumption Cathedral was given to a schismatic and a self-celebrant. A schismatic is Filaret, a self-holiday is Epiphanius. They tell me to commemorate Epiphanius. and millions of people, how the devil did everything wisely.
Under the guise of unification, they began a “race” against the Church. They want to destroy Alexander Nevsky. This is a group of atheists, bandits waging an open war against the Church. The main thing for them is not war. The main thing is to destroy the holy catholic and apostolic Church. That is, to distract us from Christ,” Pasha Yurchyshyn is quoted by “Mercedes”.
The Office of the Prosecutor General considered the appeal of the People's Deputy and announced that it had begun criminal proceedings.
The Metropolitan used against the OCU and his clergy, offensive words containing signs of an offense under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It is reported that Pasha Mercedes made statements aimed at inciting religious enmity and hatred in the country between the believers of the UPM (MP) and the WTO through humiliation of the OCU.

What led to the statement of Metropolitan Pavel
- From January 1, 2023, the UOC-MP was deprived of access to the Lavra Assumption Cathedral and the Refectory Church. In particular, representatives of the UOC-MP were unable to get into the main temples of the Lavra.
