Agony in the swamps: why the massive shelling of Ukraine by the Russians does not change anything

On October 10, Russia launched the largest massive missile attack against Ukraine since February 24. This time, the terrorist state did not even try to pretend that its targets were military installations, but directly hit civilian infrastructure. At least 11 people became victims of the terrorist attacks, almost 90 were injured. =”ltr”>Among the main targets of Russian missiles were a playground in the historical center of Kyiv, a monument to the chairman of the Central Council Grushevsky and the scientific library of Kyiv University named after Mikhail Maksimovich, the roadbed along Volodymyrska Street, the German Consulate, a glass pedestrian bridge, popularly known as ” the city of Klitschko”, as well as a regular bus in the Dnieper

Among the secondary goals are civilian infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine, in particular, thermal power plants. Thus, the plan of the enemy is obvious. Terror against civilians and an attempt to make Ukrainians freeze to death.

For this, the Russians launched 84 missiles in Ukraine, 56 of them destroyed the Ukrainian air defense. They fired a combined hodgepodge of scarce and valuable Kh-101, Kh-22 and “caliber” missiles. The Russians also used Iranian kamikaze drones “Shahid-136”, better known as “mopeds”, for mass use.

Not improvisation

The Russians themselves called it retribution for the destruction of the Kerch bridge, which caught fire last Saturday for unknown reasons. However, this is only partly true. In fact, Ukrainian intelligence has established that large-scale shelling of Ukraine was planned a few days before the explosions in the Kerch Strait, at least from October 23.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, then the military units of the strategic and long-range aviation of Russia received orders to prepare for massive rocket attacks. The targets were critical civilian infrastructure facilities and central areas of densely populated Ukrainian cities. to “justify” the massive shelling of Ukraine in the best traditions of “Ryazan sugar”.

Pay attention! Shelling of civilian infrastructure and terror against the civilian population is one of the favorite “entertainments” of Russians. In the spring and summer, the Russians deliberately hit civilian targets – shopping malls, schools, kindergartens, universities, bus stops and train stations, the goal was to sow panic among people and create an atmosphere of terror. In the fall, they also applied a relatively new tactic. attacks on critical infrastructure objects Thus, in early September they tried to avenge the debacle in the Kharkiv region.

But did the Ukrainian army stop the strikes on a thermal power plant in the vicinity of Kharkov, which resulted in temporary blackouts? No way, the Russians received a spectacular response near Izyum and suffered one of the most shameful military defeats in their history, and the heroic fighters of the State Emergency Service quickly overcame the consequences of the accident.

Also, the shelling of civilian infrastructure in Zaporozhye did not solve the problem of the actual encirclement of the occupiers in the Kherson region. Even the shelling of the nuclear power plant in Energodar did not change the situation at the front in favor of the Russians. in the Donbass, will the occupiers in Kherson and Nova Kakhovka become better off from this? No, nothing will change for the Russians at the front. Their defeat is inevitable.

Moreover, the blatant terrorist attacks on civilians have further strengthened the resolve of the Ukrainians and their thirst for resistance, and also destroyed the final doubts of the allies that Russia should finally be recognized as a terrorist state, and Ukraine should receive not only the latest air defense systems, but also ATACMS missiles in order to be able to deliver effective strikes against enemy missile launch sites outside of Ukraine. Russia will only have to move its own dynamic “red lines” somewhere in the Voronezh region again. By the way, this process has already begun.

Agony

One more question: what was it? The answer is simple – agony. Russia is losing catastrophically on the battlefield and is in anticipation of even greater defeats. That is why he is taking panic steps – such were the “partial mobilization”, and now – the massive shelling of infrastructure with missiles. Thus, Russia tried to intimidate Ukraine and the world with the fact that it was ready to fight to the “last missile”.

However, this plan failed, as did the miserable attempts to sow panic with stories about the alleged escape of Zelensky, Klitschko and other top officials from Kyiv, as well as another attempt to tell “where the attack on Belarus was being prepared from.”

The Ukrainians were definitely not intimidated, they were more frightened in the aggressor country itself, because the missiles are quickly completed, so the game that Putin is playing will turn into a war “to the last Russian”.

Given the previous events and the inhuman nature of the Russian regime, it should not be ruled out that the shelling on October 10 is intended to provoke a mirror response from Ukraine – along the borders, the Russians have a lot of thermal power plants and nuclear power plants, their coordinates are well known, as well as the impotence of Russian air defense. However, Ukraine is winning on the battlefield without the need to create a humanitarian catastrophe in Russia. We just don't need it. After losing the war, Russia will do everything itself.
