Against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, the demand for blue-collar jobs is growing

Working professions have become the most in demand/Channel 24

Because of the war in Ukraine radically changed the way of life. The same applies to all areas and the labor market.

Experts have noticed that working professions are gaining more and more popularity. In particular, in June there were 20% more actual vacancies in this area than in May.

Specialists in working professions were needed even before Russia invaded Ukraine. Now the labor market offers them also many vacancies. In general, in the labor market in the country, the share of vacancies in the field of working personnel is 8% of all relevant on the job search portal. They are also among the top 5 most in-demand professional industries.

Such specialists are needed in all regions of Ukraine. More than a third of current vacancies are open in Lviv and the region. The second position is occupied by the city of Dnipro and the region, the third is surprisingly the Donetsk region, because there are hostilities.

Finding a job in such areas is quite easy even if you do not have the relevant experience. Indeed, for almost half of the vacancies, that is, 47%, employers indicate that it is possible without experience. Approximately the same number are looking for people with a minimum experience of 1 to 3 years.

At the same time, only 4% of current vacancies want to have experience from 3 to 6 years, and more experienced specialists are in demand only in 2% of vacancies.< /p>

What kind of specialists are most sought after

The study showed that most often employers are looking for fitters โ€“ 14% of all offers.

The second in the ranking are loaders , which 13% of employers need. And the third position is occupied by components and packers of goods – 10% of all current vacancies.

Salary for workers

Salary is an important factor for everyone who is looking for a job. On average in Ukraine, specialists in working professions are offered 13,700 hryvnias of salary. At least every month, such workers can receive from 8900 hryvnia. Most of these vacancies – 44%.

However, only a quarter of vacancies indicate a salary of 13,400 hryvnia. Analysts note that, unfortunately, a minority of employers offer high salaries.

For example, 16% are ready to pay a salary of 17,800 hryvnia. And only 9% of job offers promise from 22,300 hryvnia, and 6% of vacancies offer a salary of 26,800 hryvnia.

It should be noted that depending on the specialization, the salary level also varies significantly. On average, they offer locksmiths and mechanics the most – 20,800 hryvnias. Those involved in repairs can receive an average of UAH 18,500, and machine operators – UAH 15,500 per month.

Handymen, electricians and electricians are offered about 14 thousand hryvnias. Installers and movers can expect an average of 13,700 hryvnia for work. But the least offered to pickers and stackers-packers. On average, they can count on 10,100 hryvnias.

What is happening with the labor market in Ukraine

  • The National Bank published data on which in Ukraine, the share of enterprises that significantly reduced the number of employees and those who did not reduce their staff has normalized. It's about 30%. In general, the employment situation has improved, but this may be due to a seasonal factor.
  • According to the UN at the beginning of May, more than 4.8 million Ukrainians have lost their jobs since the start of a full-scale war, and as a result, their income . The private sector suffered the most during the war – salaries fell on average by 25 – 50%, according to various estimates, compared to pre-war times.
  • In neighboring Poland, there is a problem that they cannot find men for the corresponding works. After all, refugees from Ukraine are mostly women and children. Men are not allowed to leave, with a few exceptions.
