The invaders are shelling the border areas of the Sumy region from the territory of Russia. Yes, on May 24, in just one hour, the enemy shelled the region 15 times.
The military reported that there were no losses among personnel and equipment. There were no reports of casualties or injuries among the local population.
Invaders fired 15 times at the border of Sumy region
- at about 17:05 – 17:18 recorded 7 explosions (“parishes”) from the territory of Russia towards the settlement of Boyaro – Lying. Probably fired from a mortar.
- At about 17:15, 8 explosions were recorded in the area of the settlement of Tolstodubovo.
Last shelling of Sumy region: briefly
- On May 23, from the territory of Russia, the invaders fired at the village of Mezenovka, Krasnopol community, from mortars and artillery. Civilian infrastructure was damaged, including a fire on an old farm.
- On the same day, the occupiers fired at Belopolye and its environs both from rockets and self-propelled guns. And at about one in the morning, the Russian invaders also launched an airstrike. As a result of enemy attacks, 11 civilian houses were damaged.
- On the morning of May 21, the Russian military fired artillery at the Esman community. Soon, the operational command “North” reported on the shelling of the border areas of the Sumy region. 6 “arrivals” were reported in the direction of the Kucherovka settlement.
- During May 17, 70 explosions were recorded. And the day before, the invaders tried to attack in the direction of the Sumy region and break through the defenses of the region. Enemies worked under cover of artillery. Fighting continued for several days.
- Fortunately, the Armed Forces managed to beat off the enemy attack. Therefore, the Russian military failed to cross the state border. And since the attempts of the invaders were in vain, they do not stop shelling the border settlements.
By the way, the shelling of the Sumy region has intensified recently, this may indicate a probable offensive Russians. In particular, Zhivitsky believes that the recent fighting may be a sign that Russia is conducting reconnaissance. Thus, the occupiers are trying to determine the defense capability of Ukraine.
