Again confused in fiction: the Russians attributed to the “war veterans” gangsters Bonnie and Clyde

Russia is increasingly turning into a fake country where there is nothing of its own. But sometimes you can get into trouble for stealing history.

Perhaps the main holiday among the Russians is the “Victory Day” on May 9th. True, in 2022 it was not possible to celebrate it on a grand scale. And there was little equipment at the parade in Moscow (and in some cities there was none at all). And the air show in almost all cities had to be abandoned. The official reason is non-flying weather, although at this time the sun was shining everywhere. And the very speech of the Russian dictator did not impress anyone.

What was not abandoned was the concentrations that were broadcast on television. But here, too, there was a failure, which some have already called “sabotage”.

During one of these concerts on Russian television, they decided to show “couples divorced by war” in the background. And among the photos of these couples were the most famous gangsters in America – Bonnie and Clyde. Their photo was among others during the performance of the singer Zara.

The photo shown is of the couple a year before they died in 1933. Specifically, it is posted on Wikipedia as the main article about this pair of robbers in both the British version and the Russian one. And also Ukrainian.

The photo was taken in March 1933. Then they were already on the wanted list, because since 1932 they began their criminal activities. They were shot on May 23, 1934. Before the outbreak of World War II, there were still more than 5 years. Adolf Hitler had just become Chancellor of Germany, but not yet Fuhrer.

< p> The Russian Channel One, on whose air this concert was shown, has already cut this moment from the video published on the site. It should be noted that in Russia such events do not take place live. This applies even to Putin's speeches.

Fake heroes for Russians

This is not the first time Russians have used fake images to mythologize World War II. This has already been noticed more than once during the so-called campaigns of the “immortal regiment”, when among the photographs of “veterans” there were fake characters. And the procession participants themselves had nothing in common with those who were carried on sticks. After walking, these photos immediately ended up in the trash.
