China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the only way to end the fighting in Ukraine — is to move on to negotiations between Kiev and Moscow.
A similar statement appeared on the website of the Foreign Ministry in Beijing after China's special representative for Ukraine Li Hui arrived in the Russian capital the day before.
— China is willing to continue its efforts to promote peace negotiations, mediate and reach consensus between Russia, Ukraine and other relevant parties, and contribute to the final political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, &# 8212; said in an official statement.
During a meeting between a Chinese representative and Kremlin officials, it was announced that no diplomatic discussions on the war in Ukraine “can be held without the participation of the Russian Federation”.

On March 2, Chinese Special Representative for Ukraine Li Hui met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in Moscow.
They made a joint statement that it is impossible to discuss “conflict resolution” in Ukraine “without the presence of Russia.”
As part of this trip, the Chinese diplomat intends to visit Kyiv, Warsaw and Berlin.
