Flooding continues to spread across the Orenburg region. However, flooding was not the only problem for the Russians. After all, a flood can provoke various diseases.

After the dam breakthrough in Orsk, the flood situation is developing according to the worst-case scenario. Russian media write about this, reports 24 Kanal.

What is happening in the Orenburg region

As of the morning of April 7, it is known that 1,784 land plots were flooded in Orenburg. Another 1,374 households were flooded. More than 889 people have already been taken out of the city, including 229 children. Preparations for further evacuation of the population continue.

The water in the Ural River and its tributaries continues to rise. Thus, over the past 24 hours in Orsk, the water level has risen by 28 centimeters. In this city, 1,164 people were evacuated, including 336 children.

In the Orenburg region as a whole, the water rose from 11 to 65 centimeters. More than 6,000 homes have already been flooded in the region. Problems with light began in 8,000 houses.

What the Russian authorities say

At first, local authorities called the situation “stable.” However, already on the evening of April 7, car traffic in Orenburg was partially limited, an artificial embankment was created on Uralskaya Street and the lights were turned off in houses in one of the microdistricts. The deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the aggressor country, Ilya Denisov, later assessed the situation in the Orenburg region as “complicated”. Photos from social networks

Messages are spreading across social networks about a likely increase in the number of casualties. However, local authorities hastened to refute this information. The press service of the Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler stated that these data allegedly do not correspond to reality. They assured that now there are only 18 affected people who became infected with “norovirus after drinking water from a centralized water supply.” Residents should immediately leave their homes in the flood zone. The mayor threatened these people with forced evacuation with the involvement of law enforcement officers. He also warned that on the night of April 7, the water in the Ural River could reach a critical level. On Sunday, April 7, Salmin called the flood situation in Orenburg critical. According to him, the water level will only rise in the coming days.
