After the “clap” in Mariupol, the invaders handed over air defense to Surovikin: will this affect the course of the war

The Russian military air defense was withdrawn from the subordination of the Ground Forces. She was handed over to the main command of the Russian Aerospace Forces. It is interesting that such changes took place after a series of explosions in occupied Mariupol.

Putin continues to reshuffle the leadership of the Russian army. The Russian media reported about the new changes, Channel 24 informs.

Will the changes affect the course of the war?

Now the military air defense, whose task is to escort and cover combat units, will be led by General Sergei Surovikin. The invader led the Russian group in Ukraine from October to January.

Military expert Petr Chernik told Channel 24 that these changes will not affect the course of the war. According to him, “by rearranging the terms” nothing will change. The only thing that this indicates is the aggravation of the internal struggle in the Russian command.

Consequence of “cotton” in Mariupol

It is noteworthy that personnel changes occurred after the explosions in the deep rear of the Russians in the occupied Mariupol. Recall that Mariupol is located 80 kilometers from the front line.

  • By the way, the first explosions in Mariupol thundered on the evening of February 21, then – at night against February 22 and in the morning. An adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, reported that there was a blow to the ammunition depot and the military base of the Russian occupiers.
  • On February 24, it was loud again in Mariupol. This time – in warehouses with enemy ammunition.
  • Natalya Gumenyuk, a representative of OK Yug, said that the attacks on Russian positions in Mariupol indicate that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had found a way to beat the Russians in the rear. NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov also confirmed that distance no longer matters much for strikes.
