After the “apology”: Putin and Aliyev spoke about the plane crash in Aktau for the second time this weekend Polina Buyanova

On Sunday, December 29, Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation. Politicians have discussed the Embraer-190 plane crash that occurred near Aktau in Kazakhstan for the second time this weekend.

This was reported by 24 Channel with reference to Russian media. It is noted that the previous conversation between the presidents took place the day before, on December 28.

Putin and Aliyev held another telephone conversation

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin and Aliyev held a telephone conversation and “continued to discuss issues related to the plane crash.”

It is worth noting that the statement by Putin's press secretary appeared against the backdrop of Ilham Aliyev's interview for Azerbaijani television. In it, Aliyev stated that in the first days after the crash in Azerbaijan, “we heard nothing from Russia except crazy versions.”

The leader of Azerbaijan also put forward demands to Russia, since it is the country that is accused of shooting down the plane that crashed in Kazakhstan during a flight to Grozny. Aliyev demands that Russia admit guilt, punish the guilty and pay compensation.

Recall that during the previous telephone conversation, Putin apologized to Aliyev that “the incident with the Azerbaijani plane occurred in Russian airspace.” The Kremlin dictator also cynically expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished recovery to the wounded.
