Reports appear in the Western media that Russian President Vladimir Putin may declare war on Ukraine during the May 9 celebrations, which, as you know, are a real triumph of Russia's so-called “victory madness”.
The cult of war returns
Indeed, in order to recall the ideology on which Putin's misanthropic regime is based, Russia today uses Victory Day in World War II.
However, the question arises whether Putin will really declare war on a neighboring country on May 9th. After all, until now it was considered quite obvious that the Russian political leadership wants to avoid the very idea of war in their propaganda related to the attack on Ukraine.
It is worth recalling that it is precisely because people call the war a war that they are arrested and even ready to be sent to prison for 15 years – just so that they do not say that the Russian Federation started a war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022. It turns out, however, that all these people were telling the truth when they said that the “special military operation” is not any “operation”, but a full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine.

The next question also arises: how can reality change for Vladimir Putin if he declares a “special military operation” as Russia's war against Ukraine? This is a very important issue from the point of view that such a statement opens the way for the Russian president to carry out a full-scale mobilization of citizens for such a war. Which, of course, will allow Putin to increase his efforts regarding the war with a neighboring country after May 9.
We must realize that the Russian president is not going to, while he has the resources, retreat from their political goals related to the desire to dismantle the Ukrainian state and annex its territories to the Russian Federation.
But for Russian citizens who support Vladimir Putin's foreign policy, and we know that there are even 20% more of them now than it was before Vladimir Putin started the war against Ukraine (as much as 83%), there is still an idea that Ukraine must be dealt with by the armed forces that already exist.
Mass mobilization is unlikely to be a gift for a large number of fans of the Russian president who would like to follow what is happening in Ukraine on their television screens, and not take a direct part in hostilities .
In addition, it turns out that it was not the Kremlin that spoke the truth, which for more than 70 days will repeat that there is no war on the territory of Ukraine, but the truth was told by those who emphasized that a real war began on February 24, 2022 , and this war with Ukraine, started by Putin, will last for a long time and lead to unpredictable consequences for the Russian Federation itself as an aggressor state.
