The invaders are trying to hold on to the temporarily occupied territories, but it is known that they are already fleeing from Kherson. Moreover, the Russians are trying to advance in the Bakhmut and Avdeevsky directions.
The invaders are shelling the positions of our troops along the line of contact, conducting aerial reconnaissance and equipping defensive positions.
Strikes on infrastructure
Since the beginning of the day, the Russians have launched 4 missile and 11 air strikes, more than 10 times they hit from multiple launch rocket systems.
In addition, the enemy once again hit civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vinnitsa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Nikolaev regions with cruise missiles and Iranian drones.
At night, the invaders attacked Uman, Cherkasy region and Koblevo, Mykolaiv region – launched 5 Shahed-136 drones. Air defense shot down everything. By the way, during the day, 9 kamikaz drones were attacked from the territory of Belarus. We managed to shoot down 8 of them.
Shelling at the front
In other sectors of the front, the enemy is shelling settlements on the line of confrontation and our positions:
- in the Seversky direction, the invaders fired mortars and cannon artillery near the settlements of Gai and Khrenovka in the Chernihiv region;
- in the Slobozhansky direction – from mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Volchanskie Khutor, Terny, Krasnoye, Ogurtsovo, Strelka and Domashny;
- in the Kupyansky direction – from cannon and rocket artillery, not far from Berestovoe , Two-year-old, Kamenka and Kislovka;
- in the Limansky direction – from mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Grekovka, Gryanikovka, Nadezhda, Novoegorovka, Zarechnoye, Serebryanka, Terny, Torskoye and Yampolevka;
- in the Bakhmutsky direction – from tanks and artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoye, Belogorovka, Mayorsk, New York, Oprosnoye, Razdolevka, Soledar, Disputed and Yakovlevka;
- in the Avdeevka direction – from tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Avdeevka, Berdychi, Pervomayskoye, Karlovka, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka and Novomikhailovka. the invaders did not attack. However, 45 settlements were shelled along the entire line of collision.
After the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders flee from Kherson
The Armed Forces of Ukraine fell into the ammo train in the Kherson region on October 17. After that, some invaders guarding it were injured, the rest fled.
The National Guard, under the pretext of fighting saboteurs, are looking for deserters. By the way, the invaders replenish the losses with prisoners, but this adds new problems to the command. After receiving weapons, the recruited servicemen leave the units and look for ways to return to Russia.
In Zaporozhye, the invaders are conducting a so-called “inventory” of the housing stock and a “census” of the population. All in order to find and take away the housing of the departed local residents.
Successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Defense Forces aviation dealt ten blows to infidels during the day . It is known that they managed to hit 6 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as 4 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
The air defense forces shot down 4 cruise missiles, 1 Ka-52 helicopter and 13 Shahed-136 drones. Warriors of missile troops and artillery hit 3 command posts, 4 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, one bridge and one pontoon ferry of the enemy.
