Ukrainian defense forces continue to advance in certain sectors of the front and inflict losses on Russian troops.

Over the past week, the main battles took place in the south and east of Ukraine.

According to British intelligence, in order to contain the advance of the Ukrainian military, the Russian occupiers are carrying out local counterattacks, but mostly they are ill-conceived and unsuccessful.

Now they are watching

What happened at the front during the week

Military expert Petr Cherniknotes that the front is currently in a state of strategic routine.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine now have two strategic tasks — on the Bukhmut and Zaporozhye directions.

Bakhmut direction. In the east, Ukrainian defenders are moving towards the encirclement of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the successes of the defenders south of Bakhmut: near Kleshchievka, Odradovka and Shumov.

The Ukrainian military is trying to inflict maximum losses on the Russians in manpower and equipment and deplete the enemy along the front line.

Zaporozhye region. The strategic task of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the south — go to the Northern Azov region, that is, touch the Sea of Azov.

Expert Mikhail Samusduring the telethon he noted that the main fighting this week in the Zaporozhye region took place in the area of Novoprokopovka and Verbovoye.

Estonian intelligence also reported local successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near these villages.

— The Ukrainians expanded and strengthened the bridgehead, and also reached the outskirts of the villages of Novoprokopovka and Verbovoye. The main brunt of the fighting lies with the infantry; tactical groups supported by artillery fire are well suited for capturing fortified positions. Minefields still hinder vehicle maneuvers, — intelligence indicated.

In the Limano-Kupyansky direction, the Ukrainian military reported recording signs of the Russian occupiers preparing for an offensive.

According to the representative of the Eastern Group of Forces Ilya Evlash, in an area where there had recently been a lull because the Russians were finishing strengthening their fortifications, military clashes are resuming and air strikes have become more frequent.

Expert Pyotr Chernik points out that the activity of enemy aviation is a typical example of the behavior of troops before an offensive, “just like a textbook”.

At the same time, over the past 24 hours, according to the General Staff, the enemy has not carried out offensive (assault) actions in the Kupyansky and Limansky directions.

The Russian Federation begins to attract strategic reserves, the Wagnerites are returning

To compensate for losses, Russia begins to attract strategic reserves.

In particular, the 25th Army was deployed in the eastern direction. Previously it was planned that it would be withdrawn from reserve in the winter. Now the number of the formation is more than 17 thousand. The militants took up their positions near Kreminnaya.

— Their main task — maintain this direction, but the preparedness of these personnel remains at a low level. These military personnel were recruited under contract or transferred from other units, — said the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of Forces, Ilya Yevlash.

The militants who recently fought as part of the private military company Wagner are concentrated around Bakhmut, Donetsk region. This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense intelligence with reference to a number of reports.

Such data was confirmed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noting that the former Wagnerites no longer pose and will not pose a serious threat.

According to Yevlash, the remnants of those shortfalls that remained after that are returning to Ukraine how the Wagnerites were defeated at the end of spring — early summer”.

AFU records for the destruction of occupiers' equipment

In September, the Defense Forces destroyed a record amount of artillery and vehicles, noted military expert Alexander Kovalenko.

Thus, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 947 units of Russian artillery. This is due to the fact that the Russians are accelerating the degradation of counter-battery warfare due to the use of increasingly primitive and backward artillery weapons, the analyst explained.

A record was also set for the number of destroyed Russian vehicles — 874 units.

In addition, in September, 63 enemy MLRS were destroyed, which is the second result for the entire period of a full-scale war.

— Thus, September closes with very encouraging indicators. After all, the pace and volume with which Russian artillery is being destroyed does not allow the Russian military-industrial complex to not only fully compensate for losses, but even puts them in a deep minus, from which it will be possible to get out only with the help of supplies from a third country, — the expert summed up.

It became known earlier that in September an absolute record was set for the use of Shahed-136 kamikaze drones against Ukraine by Russian occupiers — 521.
