The Russian Federation is stealing minerals and minerals from the occupied parts of Ukraine – trains with the stolen goods go through Crimea and the Kerch Bridge to Russia.

The British Ministry of Defense wrote about this in its latest intelligence review of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

British intelligence notes that the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly drawn attention to this robbery.

— Iron ore, coal, titanium, uranium, manganese, gold and lithium are present in Ukraine, and their deposits are almost certainly a desired target for Russia, which is also looking for ways to bleed the Ukrainian economy, depriving it of access to resources and destroying infrastructure, — the report says.

Russian Federation exports minerals from Ukraine

According to British intelligence, one of the reasons that Russia is trying to improve transport infrastructure in the occupied parts of Ukraine is that it is seeking to extract more Ukrainian minerals.

– Trains travel through Crimea and the Kerch Bridge to Russia. This activity is not without risk, since the trains travel through areas where there is high activity of Ukrainian partisans, — the report says.

In particular, the department recalled the statements of the occupiers about the allegedly ongoing improvement and construction of road and railway infrastructure in the Zaporozhye region in order to connect the region with Russia. Analysts say that this is not only a military purpose, but is also being done to export grain and minerals.

The review cites the mining of iron ore and its export in the Dneprorudny area in the Zaporozhye region as an example.
