A tragic accident occurred in the city of Perechin in the Zakarpattia region.
A woman with signs of alcohol intoxication in a BMW X5 crashed at high speed into a concrete fence of a border guard checkpoint, killing a border guard.

According to law enforcement officials, the accident in the city of Perechin occurred at approximately 04:30 on July 7.

An investigative task force was dispatched to the scene and determined that the BMW X5 was being driven by a 53-year-old woman from Perechin.
She lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a barrier.
As a result of the accident, a 45-year-old serviceman of the State Border Service of Ukraine was seriously injured. The man was urgently taken to the hospital, but despite the efforts of doctors, he died from his injuries.
The female driver showed signs of alcohol intoxication, but refused to undergo a medical examination.
She was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Code. She is currently in hospital under 24-hour guard, as she also sustained injuries.
A 31-year-old passenger in the car was also hospitalized.
Investigators from the Zakarpattia region police opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules while intoxicated, resulting in the death of a person).
The detainee faces up to 10 years in prison, followed by a ban on driving vehicles for a period of 5 to 10 years.
Let us recall that on the morning of July 7, a passenger bus got into an accident in the Dnipropetrovsk region. One person died, another 17 were injured.
