US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping met in San Francisco on November 15. However, even after this, Beijing will continue to help Russia, but to a very limited extent.

China's support for Russia will not be in the same volume as Western assistance to Ukraine. This opinion was voiced by Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko to Channel 24 .

“China claims world hegemony”

Igor Yakovenko noted that the meeting between Xi Jinping and Joe Biden was very important. The main result of these negotiations is the resumption of communication between the Chinese and US militaries.

In fact, this reduces to almost zero the chances of any conflict that could lead to a nuclear disaster. This is a very important story,” he says.

According to the oppositionist, no matter what, one should not think that China will stop helping Russia. In addition, the PRC will try to maintain tension in the world. In particular, to influence processes in the Middle East, but this will be unsuccessful.

“China still lays claim to world hegemony. It will arm Russia against Ukraine. But Russia’s support will continue to be limited. This is very important. This will not be the support that the West provides to Ukraine,” the journalist suggested.

Meeting between Biden and Xi: the main thing

  • On November 15, Xi Jinping flew to San Francisco to meet with Joe Biden. Subsequently, the Chinese President attended the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
  • The leaders' negotiations took place in a mansion located south of San Francisco. The Biden administration has only shown the beginning of negotiations. The main part of the meeting took place behind closed doors.
  • Xi Jinping called the China-US bilateral relationship the most important in the world. He said that the two states have no right to turn their backs on each other. In particular, the leader of the People's Republic of China noted that the size of planet Earth is enough for both countries to achieve success.
  • The presidents discussed issues of Russia's war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and positions on Taiwan. China and the United States have agreed to resume military ties.
  • Joe Biden said that he still considers Xi Jinping a dictator, because he leads a communist country. The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded and called these words irresponsible and erroneous.
