Russia captured them back in 2015. After a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the aggressor used the platforms for military purposes: for example, to place radar stations (radar stations) and as helipads.

GUR units of the Ministry of Defense carried out a unique special operation, during which they managed to return &# under control 8220;Boyko rigs”: drilling platforms Petr Godovanets and Ukraine, as well as the jack-up drilling rig Tavrida and the jack-up drilling rig Sivash.

– During one of the phases of this operation, a battle took place between Ukrainian special forces on boats and a Russian fighter Su-30. As a result of the battle, the Russian plane was defeated and was forced to retreat, — emphasized in the Main Intelligence Directorate.

In addition to returning the platforms to the control of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate units also captured valuable trophies: a supply of helicopter ammunition such as NAR (unguided aircraft missiles), as well as the Neva radar station, capable of tracking the movement of ships in the Black Sea.
