At the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General in Athens (Greece), on November 13, a Ukrainian citizen was detained suspected of illegally appropriating budget funds in the amount of UAH 43 million.
The director of the LLC, in collusion with other persons, misappropriated funds that the company received as an advance payment under contracts concluded with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the purchase of military goods.
Next, this money was transferred to the accounts of individual entrepreneurs for the alleged provision of work and services.

The crime was committed between March 2 and May 10, 2022.
On July 12 of the same year, the defendant was informed of suspicion of taking possession of someone else's property by an official abusing his official position and disposing of property obtained by criminal means, committed on an especially large scale by an organized group (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 3 of Article 209 UKU).
By decision of the Athens Court of Appeal, temporary arrest was applied to the suspect.
Documents are being prepared for his extradition to Ukraine for criminal prosecution.
