A turning point in the war: Stoltenberg urged to give more weapons to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for increased arms supplies to Ukraine, he noted, at a turning point in the war.

Stoltenberg announced this on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. He explained why armaments are needed for the sake of peace.

This is a turning point in the war and support for Ukraine needs to be greatly increased. If we want to reach a peaceful negotiated solution tomorrow, we must provide more weapons today,” he explained.

The NATO Secretary General also noted that consultations are being held between the countries of the Alliance on the provision of tanks to Ukraine. In this context, he welcomed the UK's decision to send Challenger 2 tanks to Kyiv.

Putin must be defeated in the war

Stoltenberg stressed that Ukraine needs more air defense systems and armored vehicles, as well as ammunition, spare parts and maintenance capabilities to ensure that the existing weapons continue to function.

He said that the situation at the front had stabilized in recent weeks , but the fierce fighting in the city of Bakhmut in the East showed why it is important to increase the number of weapons to support Ukraine.

Putin shows no signs of being ready for peace, so he must realize that can't win on the field. Stoltenberg summed up.

Important! NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has expressed such an opinion and appeal for the second time. A few days ago, on January 15, he said that the Russian-Ukrainian war was in a “decisive phase.” And he called on the NATO countries to realize the current situation and “provide Ukraine with the weapons necessary for victory.”

At the same time, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War ISW noted that this is not entirely true. They believe that the Kremlin maintains its long-term maximalist goals of taking over Ukraine and is apparently considering several options to achieve these goals.
