The driver and an employee of the engineering and technical department were injured by the elements – they received bruises, but refused hospitalization.

In total, the tornado cost the Russians at least 3.3 million dollars. The Diamond D-42 aircraft are Austrian-made and belong to the Saint Petersburg University of Civil Aviation.

The market value of each is estimated at over $840,000. Footage from the scene shows one of them lying upside down, its wings broken. Another aircraft suffered serious damage to its landing gear.
