A sudden “turn” for the Democrats: a political scientist assessed their chances of winning Petro Sineokiy

US President Joe Biden suddenly withdrew from the election “race”. The Democrats got their chance, but everything depends on how each of them conducts their campaign.

Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko told Channel 24 about this, noting that, according to the latest data, Kamala Harris's ratings are no worse than Joe Biden's. The difference there is within the margin of statistical error.

What to expect next

As Fesenko noted, Harris does not have the significant weaknesses that Biden had. But, of course, her victory is not guaranteed. Harris herself is much younger than Trump. And there is a contrast between them. Everything will depend on how each of us builds our campaign. It will be interesting.

We will see this during the debates and elections. Trump is also far from perfect. He is certainly driven, very energetic, a good speaker. Although he has problems with logic. Here we can build the appropriate tactics. We need to use the contrast. Trump's impulsiveness and aggressiveness on the one hand, and calmness, logic and consistency on the other, – Fesenko said.

At the moment, it seems that Trump has a slightly better chance. But he also has problems. The Republican election campaign was largely built on criticism of Biden's physical condition. They literally said that Biden is “old”. Now they need to rebuild it.

Kamala Harris is a challenge for them. The Democrats have a chance. And who will win? There are just over 100 days until the elections. They will be decisive. Whoever conducts the election campaign better will have a greater chance of winning, – the political scientist emphasized.
