by alex

Another week of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against Russian aggression is coming to an end. This week, the occupiers launched a devastating missile attack on Odessa, which killed at least 21 people and injured more than 70.

The Russians also shelled Konotop, Vinnitsa, Sumy, Kharkov and other peaceful Ukrainian cities.

Meanwhile, opposition Russians, members of the volunteer international units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, began a special operation to liberate the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation from Putin’s aggression.

As a result of a missile attack on Odessa on March 15, 21 people were killed. Among them are the ex-deputy mayor of Odessa Sergei Tetyukhin, as well as the former head of the regional patrol police Alexander Gostishchev, paramedic Sergei Rotaru and State Emergency Service rescuer Denis Kolesnikov.

More than 70 people were injured, including 8 rescuers who came to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack.

Intensifying attacks in Sumy region

March 14, the occupiers released dozens of drones across Sumy, Shostka, Trostyanets and Belopolye, after which they launched missiles. The invaders struck radio engineering facilities, and television and radio broadcasting stations in these cities were disabled.

Such actions by the Russians may indicate preparation for a possible attack on the Sumy region.

However, today this is simply impossible, notes a military expert and reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petr Chernik.

According to him, a powerful defense line has been built there. Moreover, since March 12, on the territory of the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation, bordering the Sumy region of Ukraine, Russian volunteer battalions have been conducting raids to liberate these territories from the Putin regime.

“Everything that could be walled up has been walled up.” All engineering structures have been built. The occupiers do not have enough forces and means to carry out a full-fledged offensive operation. But at the same time, I do not cancel their madness. The DRGs can break through, but the RDK and the Russian Freedom Legion are now carrying out their operations precisely on the eastern border, so the invaders have no chance, he said.

Special operation of LSR, RDK and Siberia battalion

Meanwhile, the Russian Freedom Legion, the Siberian Battalion and the RDK continue to advance and liberate Russian territories.

In an exclusive interview with Facts ICTV, the representative of the Legion Freedom of Russia Alexey Baranovsky said that as soon as they reach the borders of the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation, volunteers will proclaim there the people's republics will establish temporary power.

– Our flag is already ready, behind me it’s white with a blue stripe — this is a tricolor from which “washed” red stripe. All that remains is, as they say, little to do — secure a certain territory. Whether this will be in the near future, or implemented in some other way, there are different scenarios for the development of events.

– For now, our forces are sufficient to carry out similar operations in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. Will it be possible to hold some territory for a sufficiently long time? If there is such an opportunity, we will hold these territories, we will hang a flag on the village council and so on, said Baranovsky.

SBU attack Russian refineries

Since the beginning of 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine has been carrying out destructive drone strikes on Russian oil enterprises. Specifically:

  • On January 18, the Nevsky Mazut oil refinery was hit;
  • February 3, Ukrainian drones hit the Volgograd oil refinery;
  • 9 February the Ilsky Oil Refinery and the Afipsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Territory were destroyed;
  • February 15 SBU temporarily disabled an oil depot in the Kursk region;
  • March 12 UAVs hit the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez plant;
  • March 13 the Ryazan oil refinery and Kirishinefteorgsintez in the Leningrad region were hit;
  • March 15, the petrochemical plant in Kaluga was damaged.

The main goal of such special operations — inflict as much economic damage on Russia as possible, disable oil industry facilities, and also suspend oil exports abroad.

– During this time, oil exports from the Russian Federation decreased by 30%. And this is money for which rockets could be built, mercenaries hired, and so on. We know other facilities (I will not name them) that produce products for the war against Ukraine. I am sure that these objects will also be attacked,” Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko told Facts.

Rotation of troops on the front line

This week, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Alexander Syrsky, announced that Ukraine had launched rotations and replacements of units and units that have been performing combat missions at the front for a long time.

According to the general, this will stabilize the situation, and will also have a positive effect on the moral and psychological state of the military.

– The positive thing is that, despite the rather difficult situation along the entire front line, we managed to start the process of rotation and replacement of units and units that have been performing combat missions at the front for a long time region,” said Syrsky.

Russian Federation jammed British plane over Kaliningrad

Russia jammed the satellite signal on the Royal Air Force plane that British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps was using on his way back from Poland.

The GPS signal was absent for about 30 minutes while flying near the border with the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. Pilots were forced to use alternative methods to determine their location.

A spokesman for British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed to Reuters that the incident occurred on March 13 and “was not unusual”.

“This did not threaten the safety of the aircraft, and it was not uncommon for pilots to observe GPS interference near Kaliningrad, which, of course, is Russian territory,” the spokesman said.

As the publication notes, the Russians jammed the GPS of a British aircraft amid Shapps’ statement about extending the deployment of British Sky Saber air defense systems in Poland until the end of 2024.
