In 2022, Ukraine received a lot of complexes that significantly increased the power of our defenders. Helped, in particular, equipment from Germany, designed to work at close range.
In the special project “Weapon of Victory” Channel 24 together with the courageous brand Kozatska Rada< /strong> talks about the capabilities of equipment that is already in the arsenal of Ukraine.
In addition, the Kozatska Rada offers to join the charitable initiative “To Donate For Peremogu!”. To participate in the promotion, you need to purchase your favorite drink of the brand and register on the website excise stamp code. After that, you will automatically become a member of the charitable initiative, and the Kozatska Rada will donate 10 hryvnias to the Turn Back Alive fund.
As part of the campaign, Ukrainians have collected more than 3 million hryvnia, and this figure is growing every day. While everyone joins in the approach of victory, we invite you to find out how the German Panzerfaust 3 hand grenade launcher, designed to deal with heavy armored targets of the enemy, helps our defenders.
Panzerfaust 3: development and shooting features
The Germans were engaged in the development of Panzerfaust hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers back in World War II, and the third model is already a new and improved generation of weapons. The novelty appeared in 1978 after a long work of the German company Dynamit-Nobel AG. However, the third generation Panzerfaust was put into mass production only after a complete modernization – in the 90s.

The main purpose of the grenade launcher is fighting in urban conditions, that is, fighting at close range. If we talk about stationary targets – this is 400 meters. But when you need to destroy moving or maneuverable objects, the range of use is reduced to 300. At the same time, for guaranteed destruction of the target, the manufacturer recommends shooting from a distance of 200 meters. The armor-piercing of Panzerfaust 3 shells is especially powerful Speaking of tandem warheads, they can penetrate up to 900 millimeters of rolled homogeneous armor. In turn, ordinary armor-piercing ones easily “put on the shoulder blades” armor up to 700 millimeters. This is enough to hit any modern tank.

The grenade launcher has its own characteristics when firing. To get started, the operator must ensure that there is no wall or other obstruction within 10 meters of the rear. The target must be well fixed, and after launch, immediately leave the firing position, without waiting for the result of the shot. In cases where the fire is on the tank, it is most effective to shoot from the flank or in its stern. If you need to hit other armored vehicles, then you can aim at any part. Panzerfaust is capable of handling such tasks.
At launch, a dynamo-reactive system is used, which is achieved thanks to a waste charge and anti-mass in the form of a metal powder. She flies out of the barrel back to compensate for the recoil after the shot. When the grenade leaves the launcher, the projectile is additionally accelerated thanks to the jet booster, and stabilization in flight is already carried out thanks to folding mechanisms.
Different types of shots are distinguished. Among the main ones:
- DM 12 with a HEAT armor-piercing warhead,
- DM 21 with a tandem one – to destroy tanks with active protection.

But in general there are many more. In practice, it all depends on the target to be destroyed.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the Panzerfaust 3
Today, there are no armored vehicles that can survive the impact of the Panzerfaust 3. It easily destroys armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles and tanks of the enemy. Even the newest Russian development of the BMP-3 is not capable of surviving an encounter with a grenade of this complex.

Start, by the way, one-time. This means that it is possible to load a grenade into a trigger mechanism only in the factory. Panzerfaust 3 weighs just over 15 kilograms. In addition, it is over a meter long and can operate at a maximum distance of 400 meters. The projectile speed reaches 243 meters per second. As a result, the Panzerfaust 3 is often used as a last line of defense.
What is special and how the Panzerfaust 3 grenade launcher works: watch the video
Panzerfaust 3 is a solid addition to the anti-tank weapons currently used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This German technique is useful for fighting in cities, villages, forests and wooded areas. And given the fact that the armor-piercing complex itself has, the enemy will have no chance of survival after meeting with the projectile.
