Donald Trump said that he wants to reduce world oil prices. He asked the Saudi Arabian authorities to help him do this and increase their own production. However, they are probably not ready for such plans of the US President until Trump offers something that the Saudis want.

Editor-in-chief of the portal “Ukraine in Arabic” Mohammad Farajallah told Channel 24 about this, noting that Saudi Arabia and the main OPEC players are making it clear to the United States that they do not serve Trump. The US President, according to him, should remember the interests of not only his own, but also other countries.

The Beginning of Trump's Policy

Mohammad Farajallah believes that Donald Trump began his presidency quite aggressively, which could have alarmed Saudi Arabia somewhat.

His statements shocked the Arab world. In particular, the fact that Trump proposed evicting Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt. This disappointed Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Algeria, he said.

Riyadh makes it clear that not only the United States of America has a certain influence on geopolitics. Saudi Arabia plans to invest $600 billion in the US.

Important! The US oil industry and international producers are opposing Donald Trump's plan to increase production because it could lower prices and cut their profits. US oil executives have already hinted that they do not plan to increase production, and OPEC+ continues to limit supplies to maintain market prices.

According to the editor-in-chief, such a significant investment means the Saudis are ready to cooperate with the Americans, but the US should also be accommodating.

Saudi Arabia wants to receive (from the US – Channel 24): first, security guarantees if a war with Iran suddenly starts, second, permission for a peaceful nuclear program, third, weapons for the defense of Arab countries, he noted.

Did Saudi Arabia Reject Trump

Faraj Allah stressed that Saudi Arabia did not ignore Trump's request to lower oil prices and increase production.

It is likely that if the US President takes some step towards the Saudis, Riyadh will begin to look for technical capabilities that would affect the fall in prices.

Technical capabilities will be developed by the end of March (2025 – Channel 24) to start increasing oil production from April, the chief suggested editor.

So far, Saudi Arabia does not see a serious argument to start an oil standoff with Russia or Algeria just because Trump wants it. Mohammad Farajallah noted that if the US does not ignore Riyadh's needs, then any agreements will be justified.
