A Russian military man who shot a 70-year-old resident of the Kyiv region in the back received a life sentence

Thanks to the evidence base of the Security Service, Russian captain Dmitry Degot, who was involved in the massacres of civilians in Ukraine, received life imprisonment in absentia.

It is indicated that while in the position of head of intelligence of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, he participated in the capture of the Buchansky district of the Kyiv region.

During the period of temporary occupation of the community, Degot commanded the actions of his subordinates during punitive actions against local residents. During such “raids” Russians kidnapped and killed people, and also robbed private homes.

At the same time, a military official personally used firearms against civilians.

— It was established that on March 3, 2022, on one of the streets in the village of Gavronshchina, Degot stopped an unarmed 70-year-old citizen and hit him in the face with the butt of a machine gun. After the victim fell, the occupier shot the man in the back, — the message says.

A forensic medical examination initiated by the SBU confirmed that the cause of death of a local resident was multiple gunshot wounds and loss of blood.

Based on the collected evidence, the court found Degty guilty under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war) and sentenced him to life imprisonment in absentia.

Comprehensive measures are now ongoing to establish the whereabouts of the convicted person for his punishment for crimes against the citizens of our state.
