A Russian human rights activist said that officially Timur Ivanov, who is one of the 12 Deputy Ministers of Defense of Russia , accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale – at least 1 million rubles. He faces imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years or a multimillion-dollar fine. At the same time, according to another version, Ivanov is suspected of treason, citing two sources close to the FSB.

The Basmanny court arrested Ivanov, as well as his confidant and friend Sergei Borodin and co-founder of the Olympicitybud contracting company for the Ministry of Defense, Alexander Fomin. According to unconfirmed information, the latter refused a deal with the investigation.

Osechkin noted that the arrested elite stole billions of rubles through the Russian Ministry of Defense. Ivanov and Fomin also operated in various corruption schemes in the occupied territories, in particular, they collaborated with the leader of the so-called “DPR” Denis Pushilin.

These are the same mafiosi who made money from the war, from human blood, from the occupation. There can be no compassion for them. Their actions should be classified as an organized criminal group. If the investigation in Russia does not “slow down” and allows the “bloody pond” to unfold in full, then both Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his first deputy Ruslan Salikov should be in the dock with Ivanov and Fomin, noted Vladimir Osechkin.

These are the people who turned the Russian-Ukrainian war into a source of income. It was Shoigu, Salikov and Ivanov who pushed Vladimir Putin to start active hostilities, starting on February 24, 2022. They are the beneficiaries of the start of the war and its implementation.
