Powerful crisis and lack of money for the war: what sanctions will soon hit Russia significantly< /p>

The sanctions imposed by the West on Russia are having an impact on its economy and living standards. Soon Moscow will begin to lose petrodollars and a budget crisis will set in, and, accordingly, the invaders will have problems with financing the war.

Igor, a political scientist and sociologist from Germany, told Channel 24 about this Aidman. According to him, a catastrophe for Russia will become inevitable this year and it is connected, first of all, with sanctions against energy carriers.

Which sanctions will hurt Russia

Eidman noted that new sanctions against Russia will come into force soon, according to which the European Union and the G7 countries refuse to buy oil products from aggressor countries. This will be another blow to its budget after sanctions were imposed on Russian oil in December.

Before that, however, the Russians themselves shot in the leg, in fact, refused to supply gas to the European, primarily the German market. – said the political scientist.

That is, according to him, these blows to the Russian economy and budget are much stronger and more important than those that were made immediately after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. These sanctions were not catastrophic, but only worsened the standard of living of Russians.

Russia is in for a powerful budget crisis

The political scientist stressed that it would be quite noticeable for the aggressor country if it was possible to stop the influx of petrodollars for energy exports. Because they are absolutely fundamental things for Russia, a kind of estate backbone of its economy.

Now, he noted, the Russians are losing that market. Of course, they sell oil to Asia, but at a big discount, and not in such volumes. Russia's budget was made at the rate of 70 euros per dollar, and now they are trading in the oil that they can push to the Asian market at 40 dollars per barrel.

Considering this, of course, the inevitable major budget crisis and the inevitable deterioration in the lives of ordinary people, in particular, the big problems with the financing of the war, – said Eidman.

According to the sociologist, all this will happen by the middle of the year, and then the Russians' refrigerators will start to empty, so to speak. And it is then that a certain “conflict between the refrigerator and the TV” may occur. In the meantime, pro-military Russians admit that it has become more difficult, but not catastrophic.

Nevertheless, he concluded, the catastrophe will become inevitable this year and is primarily associated with sanctions against Russian energy resources, moreover and they already want to embargo uranium. Therefore, soon enough we will see the consequences of new, much more furious sanctions.

Sanctions against Russia: in short

  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called EU as soon as possible to introduce new sanctions against Russia. He noted that they should be of high quality.
  • Poland and Lithuania want the European Union to impose restrictions on Russia's nuclear sector within the new sanctions package. The EU is also being called to ban more propaganda media.
  • Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, has for the first time spoken of the possibility of imposing sanctions against Russia. It seems that the crushing defeats that Russia suffers at the front are distracting the last “friends” from it.
