The Czech Republic is one of those countries that help us resist Russian aggression. In particular, hosting those who had to run away from the war. Ukrainians thanked the Czechs by holding a parade of vyshyvankas.

According to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, every year on the third Sunday of May, a parade of vyshyvankas is held in the capital of the Czech Republic. This year there were thousands of Ukrainians, as well as Ukrainian women. Note that the parade itself has been organized for several years.

The parade was attended by very young participants, as well as adults. All of them together walked through the old town to the monument to the patron saint of the Czech Republic – St. Wenceslas. In the same place, the participants sang the Czech and Ukrainian anthems.

During the march, one could see not only the variety of Ukrainian embroidery, but also many posters. Ukrainians wrote thanks to the Czech Republic on them. After all, this country showed hospitality and helped our countrymen when they had to flee their homes due to Russian aggression.

The embassy notes that the Czech Republic, with a population of 10 million people, is in the top five states that provide more military assistance to Ukraine. As for refugees, the country temporarily sheltered more than 300,000 Ukrainians.

In addition, the marchers carried the flags of Ukraine and the EU. There were also calls for granting our state the status of an EU candidate.

Both adults and children shouted slogans: ” Glory and peace to the Czech Republic!”, “Děkujeme, Česko!”, “Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!”.

Thank you for today's embroidery parade. Thank you for unity, dear Ukrainian women and Ukrainians. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!, – they wrote in the embassy.

Earlier, we talked about a Ukrainian refugee in Cambridge. She created a giant vyshyvanka, which amazed not only Ukraine, but also the UK.

It was designed by Kristina Korniyuk from Kyiv. She had to leave for the UK to escape the war. Mrs. Platings, where she lives, decided to cheer up our countrywoman in such a difficult time. To do this, she painted her apartment in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

Kristina made the most gigantic vyshyvanka from a white sheet. She painted the canvas so that it could be seen from afar that it was an embroidered shirt. And the author adds that seven people could easily fit into the clothes themselves.

Recall that in Ukraine Vyshyvanka Day is celebrated annually on the third Thursday of May. But this does not mean that an embroidered shirt should be worn only on this day. Wear it whenever you feel like it, because you don't have to wait for the holiday!
