A new tool has appeared: thanks to which they could destroy the Ka-52 helicopter and Su-25 aircraft

Thanks to the Ukrainian military, Russia was left without a Su-25 aircraft and a Ka-52 helicopter in Donetsk region. It is precisely these actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that indicate the emergence of a new tool.

Military-political observer of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko said 24 Channel that the Su-25 aircraft and the Ka-52 helicopter have similar functionality. This aircraft operates in a close zone to combat operations, which makes it possible for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to shoot it down.

New instrument of destruction

According to Kovalenko, the Russians They have been feeling safe for quite some time now, which is why they are using their aviation close to the line of combat contact. Although the Ka-52 is an attack helicopter, and the Su-25 is an attack army aircraft, their functionality is quite similar – supporting ground operations in the near tactical zone. However, the Su-25 has a significantly greater firepower potential thanks to the pylons that carry weapons.

It is thanks to this, according to Kovalenko, that a tool has appeared that allows, at the beginning of May, to destroy Russian aviation, which operates precisely in the near destruction zone.

This component is not talked about. However, if we are talking about the Ka-52, then the last time it was destroyed in a combat zone was back in February 2024. This is precisely the period when we lacked the appropriate tools,” noted the military-political observer.

The last downing of Russian aviation, according to Kovalenko, may be the beginning of a change in the imbalance that has appeared in matters of air fire support for Russian offensive operations on land.
