In Moscow, in Gorky Park, the forum “Russian Creative Week 2021” is taking place. As part of the event, Deputy Anton Gorelkin “announced” a new bill on the control of social media algorithms.
We are talking about regulating recommendation algorithms that underlie many popular projects: YouTube, VKontakte, TikTok, etc.
Gorelkin noted that very often there are cases when a child watches safe content, for example, with unpacking kinder surprises, “and then autoplay – and he sees an extremist video,” writes TASS.
According to the official, it is necessary to create a tool that will allow disabling recommendation algorithms. At the same time, control must be public.
At the moment, the corresponding bill is under development. But in the fall it is planned to present it to the State Duma.
