A new form of military ID has been approved in Ukraine: what you need to know

Today, May 18, a new form of military registration document is in force in Ukraine.

This is provided for by Cabinet Resolution No. 559 of May 16, which came into force today simultaneously with the law on mobilization No. 3633-IX (bill 10449).

Military registration documents issued before May 16 are considered valid until a new sample is received.

New form of military ID: what is known

According to the latest changes, a military ID will be issued even to those who were previously declared unfit for military service or have reached the age limit for being in the reserve.

For citizens excluded from military registration, the military ID is not confiscated and information about exclusion from military registration is entered into it.

What data should be on the new military ID form

  • date of birth, last name, first name and patronymic;
  • taxpayer card registration number;
  • military rank and military specialty;
  • VLK results;
  • information about deferment from mobilization.

The number of the military registration document on the form and the date of its issue will be entered into the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons liable for Military Service and Reservists on the day of issue.

The correspondence of the information specified in the military ID on the form with the information contained in the Unified State Register will be checked through:

  • electronic account of conscripts, military personnel, reservists;
  • district (city) TCC or its department (SBU agency, intelligence agency).

Military ID is issued (created) and issued (replaced):

  • in electronic form (using the Electronic Account of conscripts, conscripts, reservists, the State web portal of electronic public services in the field of national security and defense and the Unified state web portal of electronic services (Diya Portal), including using the mobile application of the Diya Portal (Diya) (in case of technical implementation (this is not yet possible);
  • in paper form (on a form, the form of which is approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 559 of May 16, 2024).

The new law on mobilization in Ukraine came into force today, May 18.
