In the capital of Poland, Warsaw, a fifth-year medical university student was suspended from classes for participating in an anti-Semitic event.

On October 21, the school was told, a pro-Palestinian student held an image of the Star of David in a trash bin with the words “Keep the World Clean” written on it.

According to the Polish portal Interia.pl, in a letter, the rector of the Warsaw Medical University, Professor Zbigniew Gaczong, emphasized that the incident with the anti-Semitic poster, which was held by a student from Norway, occurred outside the walls of the institution and on a free day from classes – on Saturday.

“On the very first working day after the incident, the Norwegian student was summoned to the dean’s office to give an explanation. Based on the findings in this regard, I immediately decided to refer the case to the Disciplinary Ombudsman for Students and Doctoral Students of the Medical University of Warsaw, and subsequently also suspend the student from studying,” he said.

Gachong added that displays of hate speech or violence “have no place at the university,” but the institution “does not control or monitor” the private accounts of its students on social networks.

Let us remind you that actions in support of Palestine are taking place in different countries. On October 28, almost a hundred thousand people marched in the capital of Great Britain, London.

People with placards and Palestinian flags demanded an end to Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip.
