In the Dnepropetrovsk region, a man fired a grenade at a police station. As a result, two law enforcement officers were injured. But, fortunately, no one died.

It happened in the town of Pokrov, in the Nikopol district. A powerful explosion thundered there at 4 am on May 7. And three days later, the Nikopol police reported that the attacker had been detained and now he faces an extremely severe punishment.
The attacker launched a rocket-propelled anti-tank grenade into the outer wall between the second and third floors. If it had hit 40 centimeters higher, it would have already hit the window.

What were the motives for the attack on the polling station
Employees of the Nikopol district police department began an investigation and search. Employees of the Department of Homeland Security were involved in this.
When the suspect was detained, he turned out to be a 36-year-old local resident. During the interrogation, the investigators determined that he sought to kill the policemen . It was probably an “attempt of revenge”, because at present he is also a defendant in two criminal proceedings that were previously submitted to the court.
What punishment is threatened for this
Law enforcement officers have already opened proceedings and informed the man of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code:
- encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer;
- illegal handling of weapons.
< p> For this total threatens from 9 to 15 years in prison. Now the attacker will be in custody during the investigation without the right to make bail.
