The gunman, armed with a knife and a hammer, killed one person and wounded two others.
French media have learned new details about the attacker who carried out a terrorist attack with a knife near the Eiffel Tower on Saturday, December 2. He killed one person and wounded two more.
Le Figaro reports this.
A man attacked passers-by with a knife and a hammer, resulting in the death of a German tourist. Before the attacker was detained by the police, he managed to wound two more people. The deceased man is a German citizen born in the Philippines.
The attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack. He was detained.
The forward is 26-year-old French citizen Armand Rajabpour-Miandoab. He was born in France into a family of emigrants from Iran. His parents, who fled the Iranian regime, are not Muslim.
A police source told Le Figaro that the guy is “known to the intelligence and justice services” for his links to radical Islamists and psychological disorders.
“Ion was undergoing psychiatric and neurological treatment,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin confirmed.
The attacker stopped drug treatment several months ago.
The young man has already served a 4-year sentence for preparing a terrorist attack. At the time, he was also considering going to Syria to fight for ISIS.
After his arrest, he told police that he “cannot accept the fact that Muslims are dying in Afghanistan and Palestine,” and also accused France of supporting Israel.
Arman Rajabpour-Miyandoab, immediately before the attack, published a video on social networks, where he declared his support for the Islamic State and that he wanted to “revenge Muslims.”
The Center for Analysis of Terrorism (CAT) clarifies that the terrorist was acquainted with the Chechen Abdulla Anzorov, who brutally killed teacher Samuel Paty in 2020.
An 18-year-old native of Moscow of Chechen origin, Abdulla Anzor, cut off the head of a 47-year-old geography and history teacher at Bois d'Aulne College, Samuel Paty, with a kitchen knife in the Paris suburb of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. The terrorist himself was killed by patrol police.
The reason for the crime was the teacher's demonstration during class of cartoons from Charlie Hebdo magazine about the founder of the Islamic religion, the Prophet Muhammad.
In addition, Rajabpour-Miyandoab knew Larossi Abdullah, the perpetrator of the 2016 police double murder, and another Islamist who cut the throat of an 85-year-old Catholic priest during mass.
