The fire that occurred on January 13 in Kyiv in a children's room on the fourth floor of the Cosmo Multimall shopping center is being investigated by the metropolitan police for intentional destruction or damage to property.

After examining the scene and analyzing video from surveillance cameras, the police, together with the security service of the shopping center, were able to establish that the fire was the result of a deliberate arson by a 7-year-old boy — amusement park visitor.

Law enforcement officers note that, fortunately, no one received serious injuries or damage as a result of the fire in the playroom.

The parents and the child were invited to the Solomensky police department to give evidence.

The fire in the shopping center is being investigated under Part 2 of Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Deliberate destruction or damage to property).

Police officers urge citizens to communicate more with their children and explain to them the rules of handling fire and flammable materials.

A fire in the Solomensky district of Kyiv on the fourth floor of the Cosmo Multimall shopping center occurred on the evening of January 13. About 200 people were evacuated from the building.

Three victims turned to doctors for help — a woman and a man who work there, as well as an 8-year-old girl who was in the shopping center. They refused hospitalization.
