Days before the invasion, the G7 ministers said out loud that they didn't believe in a great war – Kuleba

At the Munich Conference on February 19, the ministers of the G7 countries said that there would be no war . They stated that they have their own assessments.

Therefore, attempts now to build such a matrix that everyone believed in one thing, but Ukraine did not, are false. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba on the air of the national telethon, channel 24 reports.

Not everyone believed in a great war in Ukraine

As Kuleba said, on February 19, together with President Volodymyr Zelensky, they attended the Munich Security Conference. He participated in the meeting of the G7 foreign ministers.

So several of them came up to me and quietly said in my ear that you are not in a hurry, we have our own assessments, we do not think that there will be a big war. Therefore, these attempts now to build such a matrix that everyone believed in one thing, and only Ukraine did not believe in something, they are false. Actually, there was no such thing. It’s just that our responsibility was much higher,” Kuleba said.

In addition, in the early fall of 2021, Ukraine began to receive data from the United States, but they were not complete. At the same time, the authorities took them very seriously.

“Yes, we didn’t come out with comments. But then the President instructed me to develop a comprehensive plan of actions that we are taking. And we came out with what was later called a three-level containment package. Active diplomacy, de-escalation, preparation of sanctions and the supply of weapons,” – the minister noted.

Kuleba stressed that when someone says that the Ukrainian authorities ignored and did not prepare, this is manipulation and pulling individual facts out of context.

Raise my public statements. What the president said when he said that sanctions should be introduced during the invasion, not after it. And you will see that we had limited information, but we took it seriously and worked on the diplomatic track precisely to prevent war and to strengthen Ukraine in case of an invasion,” the minister stressed.

Zelensky explained why Ukrainians they did not warn about the war

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine knew about the plans of the Russians and was diligently preparing for them. At the same time, it was extremely important to avoid general panic, which was a gift for the enemy. In addition, a heavy blow to the economy was dealt even before the occupiers attacked.

“If we reported this – and this was wanted by some people whom I will not name – then we would lose 7 billion dollars a month since last October, and at the moment when the Russians really attacked, they would have captured us in three days,” Zelensky said.
