In particular, a false document was recently circulated on social networks. It looked like an alleged “decree” by Volodymyr Zelensky that he deprived the citizenship of the fifth president, Petro Poroshenko. >

But he's not the only one mentioned in the fake decree. Also in the “document” they indicated that they had been deprived of citizenship:

  • ex-head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov
  • Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov
  • ex-ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova
  • suspected of treason Viktor Medvedchuk
  • godfather's wife Putin Oksana Marchenko and others.

It turned out that the “decree” in reality is a fake. They indicated its number “502/2022”, the date – July 23, 2022. It was this number that was on the document that the media circulated earlier regarding the deprivation of citizenship of other persons. But the date on this document is July 18, 2022.

But this is not all that betrayed the attackers. Indeed, in the “official document” they made a mistake and wrote the name of the capital to “Kyiv”. They also say in Dnipro that Mayor Boris Filatov was not deprived of citizenship.

Zelensky revokes citizenship

  • There was an assumption that Zelensky deprived Igor Kolomoisky of Ukrainian citizenship, which made a lot of noise. In the register of the State Migration Service for checking passports, the oligarch's passport is already listed as invalid.
  • Hence, there was a fear that in this way Kolomoisky could avoid being included in the register of oligarchs. At the same time, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov assured that citizenship has nothing to do with the registry. Indeed, even foreigners who have business in Ukraine and who can be considered oligarchs get into it.
  • There was also a case when the head of the territorial defense of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Gennady Korban, tried to enter Ukraine. The border guards took away his passport. He was told that his Ukrainian citizenship was suspended, but they did not show him any documents that could confirm this.
