On the night of July 4, Russia launched one of the largest combined attacks on Ukraine in the entire full-scale war.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who noted that the attack was “demonstratively significant and cynical,” and stressed the need for a decisive response from the world.

– Firefighting and rubble clearing are still ongoing after another Russian strike. This was one of the largest air strikes, a demonstratively significant and cynical strike, Zelensky said.
The President drew attention to the fact that the air raid siren sounded almost simultaneously with the media discussion of the telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
“Russia is once again demonstrating that it has no intention of ending the war and terror,” he stressed.
The biggest blow fell on Kyiv, where the air raid alarm lasted until 9 a.m. It was a tough and sleepless night, he said.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated high efficiency in defending the capital – 270 air targets were destroyed, another 208 drones were suppressed by electronic warfare. For the first time, interceptor drones began to be used on a large scale, having already demonstrated dozens of successful losses.
– We are doing everything to develop this area of protecting our cities. And it is very important that the support of partners in ballistic defense is maintained. For them, the PIRs and missiles are real defenders of life, – the president emphasized.
The President stressed that the only effective way to stop the aggressor is to increase international pressure.
– And all this is obvious proof that without truly large-scale pressure, Russia will not change its stupid destructive behavior. It is necessary that for each such blow to people and life, they feel corresponding sanctions and other blows to their economy, their earnings, their infrastructure. This is the only thing that can be achieved quickly to change the situation for the better. And this depends on the partners, first of all, on the United States, – he emphasized.
As of this morning, there are at least 23 known injured people who are receiving the necessary assistance.
A large number of places where fragments fell are noted, as well as the presence of direct hits.
In addition to the capital, the attack affected a number of other regions: Dnieper, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
