A Crimean wrote on a relative’s fence that he was a child killer: landed in a colony for 2.5 years

by alex

In the temporarily Russian-occupied Crimea, Crimean Alexander Tarapon was convicted for writing on a fence. Now the man must spend 2.5 years in a strict regime colony.

This sentence was passed by the Alushta court under the article about “fakes” about the army of the aggressor country.

It is known that that the case was initiated after Tarapon posted on the gate of the house of his relative, an employee of the Russian Guard, his photo with the caption “A war criminal and a murderer of children lives here.”

The Investigative Committee stated that Tarapon first made postcards with “clearly false information” about the participation of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, scattered them with mailboxes in apartment buildings and pasted them up on the streets of the city, and later pasted leaflets with “defamatory” information of a familiar employee of a law enforcement agency that fought in Ukraine.

What the accused himself says about it

Tarapon refused to admit his guilt. According to him, the case was initiated because of a family dispute. At the same time, the investigator did not clarify the opinion of the relative himself, and while the trial was going on, he died in the war.

Interestingly, the prosecution demanded a shorter term for the man – 2 years. Tarapon's defense links the severe punishment with the man's outstanding criminal record.

The media analyzed that now this is the longest sentence under the first part of the criminal article about “fakes”. Other defendants in this part were sentenced to:

  • executive labor,
  • fines,
  • colony-settlements,
  • probation

The defendant stated that he made an inscription on the gate, hoping that the wife of his relative would persuade her husband to return home from the war. It is worth adding that more than a month has passed since Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization in Russia on September 21. During this time, at least 26 mobilized people died in the war in Ukraine.

We are talking about suicides and seizures associated with health problems. The most massive case of the death of mobilized people who did not reach the front is considered to be shooting in the military unit of the Belgorod region. According to various sources, from 11 to 32 people died there.
