Китаю в войне невыгодна полная победа РФ или Украины – Фесенко

After the Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping visited European countries this past week, it became obvious that the Celestial Empire is pursuing a dual policy on the issue of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

French President Emmanuel Macron, during a meeting in Paris, called on Xi to influence Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the war against Ukraine, but in Europe there are no illusions about the intentions of official Beijing.

Ukrainian political scientist, head of the Center for Applied Political Research Penta Vladimir Fesenko.

Visit of Xi Jinping to Europe

According to Fesenko, in certain issues Xi can influence the containment of Putin.

— Of course, Macron, as well as other leaders, urge China to influence Putin to end the war. But I am absolutely convinced that there are no illusions in Paris, Berlin or Brussels, — says the political scientist.

The expert explains that, first of all, the reason why Xi Jinping will not do this is that it is not beneficial for China.

— He basically chose the role of a mediator, a peace broker, for China. But, for example, you need to understand that It is not beneficial for China if Ukraine wins this war, because China will consider this a victory for the United States. This is unacceptable for China, — he says.

At the same time, a complete victory for Russia is not beneficial for official Beijing, Fesenko believes.

— But a complete victory for Russia, just a complete one, is also not very beneficial for China. Because then Russia will become a full-fledged competitor for China, but China wants Russia to remain dependent on China. Economic dependence is, first of all, like political dependence. And therefore he will continue to pursue such a double policy, — explains the political scientist.
